ZURICH, Switzerland, September 28, 2026 — Nabtesco Technology Ventures (NTV) has invested in LOMBY Inc. (LOMBY), a Tokyo-based robotics company developing, manufacturing and operating autonomous mobility robots.
NTV participated as a new investor in LOMBY’s JPY 387 million financing round, led by Mercuria Investment Co., Ltd. The round also included existing investor DRONE FUND, together with Suzuki Motor Corporation, Tamashin-SNETI Investment Limited Partnership, Canal Ventures and other investors. LOMBY intends to use the proceeds to establish mass-production capabilities for its LM-A autonomous delivery robot, deploy concentrated robot fleets in selected areas of Japan, enhance its autonomous-driving AI and remote-monitoring operations, and strengthen its organization.
LOMBY develops outdoor autonomous mobility solutions combining robotics and AI. Its flagship LM-A delivery robot is progressing toward commercial deployment for last-mile delivery through cooperation with Seven-Eleven Japan. LOMBY is also expanding its platform into factory logistics and is developing additional applications, including the LM-T for industrial transport and the LM-P personal-mobility platform.
NTV sees growing demand for service robotics in Japan as labor shortages and an aging population increase the need for automation in last-mile delivery, factory logistics and other mobility applications. LOMBY combines autonomous-driving technology adapted to Japan’s operating environment with a strong ability to move from technology development toward real-world deployment through partnerships with leading Japanese companies.
Nabtesco has already been working with LOMBY by supplying wireless-charging systems from U.S.-based WiBotic Inc. for LOMBY’s delivery robots. Through this investment, NTV aims to support LOMBY’s commercial scale-up while further exploring strategic collaboration between LOMBY and the Nabtesco Group, including wireless charging and other technologies that can enable the broader deployment of service robots.
“Japan’s labor shortage and rapidly aging population are creating a growing need for automation in last-mile delivery and factory logistics. LOMBY combines autonomous-driving technology adapted to Japan’s unique operating environment with a strong ability to move from development to real-world deployment through partnerships with Seven-Eleven, Suzuki and others. Through this investment, we look forward to supporting LOMBY’s growth and deepening collaboration with the Nabtesco Group, including WiBotic wireless charging, to create new opportunities in service-robot infrastructure.”
