Our actuation control systems have a nearly 100% market share for aircraft made in Japan. Internationally, Nabtesco’s fly-by-wire flight-control technology is used in a number of Boeing models, namely the 737, 747-8, 757, 767, and 777.
For the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Nabtesco manufactures a rack-and-panel high-voltage electric power distribution unit, which provides DC power to motors. This product was newly developed for the 787, which requires more electrical power than other aircraft. The unit is equipped with a uniquely efficient liquid cooling system for motor controllers and transformers, and significantly reduces of the amount of electrical wiring in the aircraft. This reduces the aircraft’s weight (and thus its fuel consumption), and makes maintenance more efficient.
